Default Emotions to the limit during first day in Manzanillo

Three matches –all in the men’s division- went to the limit during the first day of action in the 2008 Maeva Manzanillo Beach Volleyball Tournament, the fourth stop of the NORCECA Circuit.

The American Team of Harold Johnson and Thomas Witt lost two of the longest matches of Friday.

The USA duo first lost to the Mexican pair of Cesar Perez and Thomas Hernandez by score of 21-16, 18-21, 15-11, and later were victims of Costa Ricans Andres Lopez and Jose Suarez by score of 18-21, 24-22, 15-9.

A tremendous battle was staged by Orlando Irrizarry-Roberto Rodriguez of Puerto Rico and Jorge Bolanos and Erick Garrido of Guatemala. The Puerto Ricans won by score of 23-25, 21-16, 19-17.

The best eight teams of each gender will advance to the double elimination bracket on Saturday and a big crowd is expected to enjoy the great atmosphere around the event and the excellent quality of the players.
