EEVZA General Assembly in Tallinn
The 2008 General Assembly of the East European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) was held in Tallinn, Estonia on May 3, 2008. CEV was represented there by its Vice-President, Mr. Jan Hronek (CZE).
The report of all the activities carried out last year, including a section especially devoted to financial matters, was approved during the meeting.
During the General Assembly, the election for the new EEVZA Executive Committee was also carried out and as a result of that process the highest representatives of that zonal association are now:
- Mrs. Vilja Savisaar, President of the Estonian Volleyball Federation, as well as member of the Estonian Parliament, will serve as the EEVZA President;
- Mr. Maris Pekalis (LAT), Mr. Vladimir Patkin (RUS) as well as Mr. Miroslaw Przedpelski (POL) have been all elected as Vice-Presidents of the organization.
As part of the EEVZA General Assembly, a meeting with Mr. Jüri Ratas, Vice-President of the Estonian Parliament, took place as well as a reception along with Mr. Edgar Savisaar, Mayor of the City of Tallinn.
The Estonian Volleyball Federation will be in charge for the next two years to keep the duties of the EEVZA Secretariat. Mr. Henn Vallimäe (EST) was appointed as the Secretary General of EEVZA.
Eight countries are currently involved into the EEVZA: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
