www.laola1.tv these days will find a photo gallery with attractive and appealing images of the Austrian Masters, which serves as the second leg of the 2008 NESTEA European Championship Tour. The collection shows the female athletes’ beautiful bodies and of course the famous NESTEA Beach Girls who excite the fans in the arena of St. Pölten with their choreographed dance shows. The commentary stands for itself: “That is something you like to look at!"
The fans in St. Pölten are being spoiled with attractive sport in hot summer temperatures even though the host teams have not had much to cheer about so far at the 100,000 Euro event. When the women’s tournament went into the decisive phase the duos from Austria had long been eliminated and watched the action from the sidelines. All this despites the high expectations the home teams had for this tournament. But this was not due to the fact that all three Austrian teams entering the main draw played well below their potential. The Schwaiger siblings finished fifth as the best Austrian team, the duo Geschweidl/Hansel finished ninth, Sara Montagnolli and Sabine Swoboda - who had previously played in the final of the Spanish Masters - even finished a disappointing 13th. Another nation was the determining factor for the top rankings in St. Pölten: Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig and Stephanie Pohl and Okka Rau made the final an all-German affair.
The final became a high-class duel between two teams that both reside in Kiel and know each other very well due to their proximity. “We have played them so often there is nothing we do not know from each other”, Okka Rau said after their semi-final victory against the Greek European Champions Arvanity/Karadassiou.
