China's Tianjin Win the Asian Women's Club Championship
Tianjin from China won the trophy of the 2008 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championships here on Saturday after clinching their victory over Sangsom of Thailand in a five set final match of the event. Sangsom finished second while Tory Arrows of Japan took the bronze medal also with a five set win over Sobaeksu of P. R. Korea at the eight-team Championship.
Tianjin, who was defeated by their final rival in the group preliminary round 3-1, rallied from a 1-2 deficit to win the first place 3-2 (25-14, 24-26, 22-25, 25-22, 15-9) in almost two hours. Tianjin showed their excellent skill, especially their powerful attacking, which made their rivals' very difficult to block.
