Default Swiss Women Highlight Qualifier in 1to1 energy Grand Slam

advanced from the women's qualifier. Switzerland's Muriel Graessli and Nadine Zumkehr, in their typical fashion, fought back from a one-set deficit to continue their hot streak. Last week in Marseille the Swiss duo advanced from the qualifier, then finished in seventh place after defeating the team which eventually placed second.

In front of a partisan crowd, the Swiss team dropped the opening set to The Netherlands' Danielle Remmers and Sophie Van Gestel, 22-20. That didn’t faze Graessli and Zumkehr, though, who last week won three matches after losing the first set. In the second set, Graessli and Zumkehr won 21-19 to force a tiebreaker. Late in the third set they watched Remmers and Van Gestel tie the set at 14-14, but a kill followed by an ace sealed the win.

"I was nervous at first," Graessli admitted afterwards. "I never really felt comfortable on the court. Maybe I put too much pressure on myself. But we saw that we could beat them, so that's how we started the second set. We never gave up, but they didn’t either. That’s how volleyball works, if you are stable inside you can beat any team. You always know you have a chance."
