The competition level on the AVP Tour might not be as high as it will be in the Olympics, but Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser are getting very accustomed to this winning feeling.
In defeating Nick Lucena and Sean Scott, 21-16, 21-12, on Saturday in the final of the AVP stop in Brooklyn, Rogers and Dalhausser earned their eighth AVP title in nine tries this season. The reigning world champions also won three of the six international FIVB tournaments they entered in 2008, leaving the Americans as gold medal favorites two weeks away from their first Olympics.
