COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 3, 2007) – The U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team scored the final five points of the match to rally from deficits of 3-0 and 10-8 in the fifth set to defeat Cuba 20-25, 25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 15-11 Saturday afternoon on the second day of the FIVB World Cup at Hamamatsu, Japan.

The U.S., ranked eighth in the FIVB world ranking, improves to 2-0 in the World Cup. Cuba, ranked fifth in the world, falls to 1-1.

Team USA plays Poland on Sunday evening at 6:05 p.m. (2:05 a.m. MT). The U.S. handed Poland a five-set loss on Aug. 3 at the World Grand Prix in the only head-to-head match between the teams in 2007.
