Beach volleyball legend Karch Kiraly is part of the distinguished Class of 2008 that will be inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame, it was announced today. Kiraly, who played his last competitive season on the AVP Crocs Tour in 2007, is the only player in the history of the sport to win three Olympic gold medals in volleyball.
"We at the AVP could not be prouder of Karch," said Leonard Armato, commissioner and CEO of the AVP Crocs Tour. "Karch has been a great ambassador for the sport of beach volleyball and he deeply deserves this honor. He truly represents the spirit of the Olympic Movement."
