Stanford Routs Santa Clara To Complete Stanford Invitational Sweep
Sophomore outside hitter Alix Klineman had one of the best hitting nights of her career, slamming 16 kills at a career-best .615 clip to lift the Cardinal to a sweep of Santa Clara tonight in the Stanford Invitational title match. With the 25-12, 25-16, 25-15 rout, No. 7 Stanford (7-2) completed a perfect sweep of the tournament field and handed the Broncos (6-2) just their second loss of the year.

No. 4 Cal Comes From Behind to Take 3-2 Win Over Notre Dame
The No. 4-ranked California volleyball team (6-1, 0-0 Pac-10) came from being behind 2-1 in the set count to take a 3-2 victory (25-17, 21-25, 20-25, 25-23, 16-14) over Notre Dame (3-5, 0-0 Big East) today in the Diet Coke Classic Volleyball Tournament at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn. The Golden Bears' freshman tandem of outside hitter Tarah Murrey and middle hitter Shannon Hawari came up big in the fourth and fifth sets to help Cal get back in the win column. As a team, the Bears got 68 kills (23e, 142att) and attacked with a .317 success rate while holding the Fighting Irish to a .248 mark, most importantly, a negative .056 in the fifth and final set.

Huskers Remain Unbeaten with Sweep of Lobos
Second-ranked Nebraska wrapped up its final test before the start of conference play, sweeping unbeaten New Mexico, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-17) to win the Ameritas Players Challenge at the Nebraska Coliseum Saturday afternoon.

Aided by 17 kills on .519 hitting by senior outside hitter Nicole Fawcett (Zanesfield, Ohio), the top-ranked Penn State women's volleyball team grounded Illinois State in three games (25-12, 25-17, 25-22) Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions improve to 8-0 while the Redbirds fall to 5-4.

The 11th-ranked Minnesota volleyball team (8-1) defeated Notre Dame (3-6) in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-21 to win the Diet Coke Classic at the Sports Pavilion on Sunday, Sept. 14.

No. 4 Golden Bears Claim 3-1 Win Over No. 16 Cal Poly
The No. 4-ranked California volleyball team (7-1, 0-0 Pac-10) concluded play today at the 2008 Diet Coke Classic Volleyball Tournament with a 3-1 (25-19, 16-25, 25-16, 25-21) win over No. 16 Cal Poly (5-4, 0-0 Big West) at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn. The Golden Bears were buoyed by strong performances from their outside hitters as they combined for 44 of Cal's 57 kills. Junior All-American outside hitter Hana Cutura led the way with 15 kills (7e, 41att, .195) and added six digs. Senior outside Am'ra Solomon made a big splash, coming up with a season-highs in kills (11) and attacks (17) while registering only one error (.588).
