Cardinal Tops No. 19 Cal Poly To Conclude Preseason
Behind an extraordinary effort by senior outside hitter Cynthia Barboza, the Stanford women's volleyball team concluded the preseason on the right note, besting No. 19 Cal Poly (5-6) on its home floor, 25-17, 23-25, 26-24, 25-10. Stanford (9-2) finished the Mission Inn at Pismo Beach Invitational with a 2-0 record, and picked up its fifth straight win. The Cardinal begins the conference season on Friday night, meeting Oregon State at Maples Pavilion.

Bruins Win Ninth Straight to Close Out Non-Conference Play
Freshman Amanda Gil had a match-high 20 kills, while seniors Ali Daley and Nellie Spicer and sophomore Dicey McGraw each had double-doubles, as the fourth-ranked Bruins extended their winning streak to nine with a four-set victory over Northwestern at the Wildcat Classic. Scores were 25-19, 30-32, 25-22, 25-21.

Huskers Remain Perfect with Win over No. 3 Texas
Behind a career-high 17 kills from Lindsey Licht, No. 2 Nebraska remained undefeated with a 3-1 victory (25-17, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18) over third-ranked Texas Saturday night at the NU Coliseum.

No. 1 Women's Volleyball Grounds Saint Louis, 3-0
The top-ranked Penn State women's volleyball team used a season-high hitting percentage of .583 to defeat Saint Louis in three games (25-17, 25-12, 25-15) Saturday night at Rec Hall in front of 3,241 fans. The Nittany Lions remain undefeated with a 12-0 record to close out the preseason portion of the schedule and have yet to drop an individual set this season. The Billikens fall to 8-4.

Volleyball Downs No. 14 Middle Tennessee For Sixth-Straight Win
The Tulane volleyball team needed five games, but was able to hold on to the match for a win over No. 14 Middle Tennessee State (19-25, 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 16-14) Sunday afternoon at Cintas Center in Cincinnati. Senior hitters Sara Radosevic and Bridget Wells each posted 15 kills as the Green Wave won their sixth in a row.

Volleyball team sweeps Marquette
The No. 13 University of Wisconsin volleyball team got back to its winning ways Sunday afternoon at the finale of the Marquette Cheese Bowl. The Badgers (10-1) swept Marquette 25-23, 25-23, 25-15 to wrap up the nonconference portion of their season.

Strong Defense Leads Volleyball to 3-1 Win Against LSU
Senior Florida middle blocker Kelsey Bowers (Gainesville, Fla.) posted a season-high seven blocks to break into the school’s all-time top-10 career list for blocks, and junior libero Elyse Cusack (Melrose, Fla.) had a season-high 21 digs as strong defense led the No. 11/11 Gators to a 3-1 (25-12, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19) win against LSU on Sunday in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
