Griffin Leads No. 20 Ohio Past Northern Illinois, 3-1
Senior middle blocker Melissa Griffin (Whitehall, Mich.) had a career-high 26 kills and hit .706 to lead the No. 20 Ohio volleyball team to a 3-1 (30-21, 30-16, 28-30, 30-18) victory against Northern Illinois at Victor E. Court on Saturday evening.
It was a career night for Griffin in more ways than one, as her 26-kill performance moves her into second place all-time at Ohio. She now has 1,507 career kills and is just 32 kills away from the Ohio record held by Lori Dyer (93-96).

No. 18 NMSU Volleyball Sweeps SJSU Again
The No. 18 New Mexico State volleyball team swept San Jose State (30-20, 30-28, 30-17) at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M. Saturday, Oct. 20 to go to 19-3 on the season, while taking their WAC record to 10-1.

DeMange and Moss Lead 17th-Ranked Duke To Win Over Virginia
Carrie DeMange and Rachael Moss each topped 20 kills and digs as the 17th-ranked Duke volleyball team overcame Virginia 3-2 (18-30, 30-19, 30-19, 26-30, 17-15) Saturday evening in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
DeMange knocked down 29 kills over the five-game spread, including eight in a narrow game five victory. Her 28 digs led all players and extended her double-double streak to 13 consecutive outings. The senior middle blocker also contributed eight blocks to tie classmate Ali Hausfeld for the match-lead. While DeMange came through late for Duke, Moss provided the early offense with 15 of her 22 kills over the first three games, eight of which came in game three. With Saturday’s performance, the sophomore outside hitter has topped 20 kills in four of Duke’s last six matches.

USD Wins Fifth Straight with 3-2 Win Over Gonzaga
Jessica Andersen's ninth kill of the match, lifted the 16th-ranked University of San Diego women's volleyball to a 3-2 win over visiting Gonzaga University Saturday afternoon in a West Coast Conference match at USD's Jenny Craig Pavilion.
With the 25-30, 30-17, 28-30, 30-22, 15-13 win, the Toreros run their winning streak to five, improve to 15-5 overall and move to 6-1 in the WCC. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 15-8 overall and 3-4 in the WCC.

No. 15, No Problem
The Boilermaker volleyball team knocked off No. 15 Michigan in Cliff Keen Arena Saturday night to wrap up the first half of the Big Ten season. Purdue won the match 3-1 by scores of 31-29, 30-27, 29-31, 30-20.
Juniors Stephanie Lynch and Danita Merlau led the way on offense with 19 kills each, while senior Samantha Mader added 15. Lynch posted a .576 hitting percentage with 19 kills on 33 swings with no errors.

Volleyball Upsets No. 13 Minnesota In Three-Game Thriller
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State volleyball (13-9, 4-6 Big Ten) upset No. 13 Minnesota Saturday night in three games, defeating the Golden Gophers 30-28, 35-33, 30-22. Freshman setter Lauren O'Reilly dished out 54 assists in the bout, tying for fourth in MSU's individual single-match records for assists in a three-game match.
The win marks the first time MSU has defeated Minnesota in five seasons, dating back to Michigan State's 3-0 victory on November, 3, 2001.

No. 6 Volleyball downs Missouri, 3-0
The sixth-ranked Texas Volleyball team earned its first win in its last seven tries at Missouri, sweeping the Tigers, 3-0, Saturday night at the Hearnes Center. The 32-30, 30-17, 30-22 victory marked the first career win in Columbia for Texas head coach Jerritt Elliott and ended UT’s six-match losing streak at Missouri.
Texas’ win moved the Longhorns to 14-3 on the year and 10-1 in Big 12 Conference play, while Missouri fell to 12-8 and 5-6 in league play. The Longhorns resume conference play at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24 against No. 1 Nebraska at Gregory Gymnasium.

Pavan Breaks Record, Huskers Sweep
Lincoln – One a night where the Husker volleyball program reached one milestone, Sarah Pavan reached another, helping No. 1 Nebraska remained undefeated with a 30-16, 30-25, 30-26 sweep of Kansas Saturday night.
The Huskers, who were celebrating their 100th consecutive home sellout in the historic NU Coliseum, rolled to their 65th consecutive home win, while Pavan passed Allison Weston for NU’s all-time lead in career kills.

Charlotte Ends Conference Losing Skid with Home Sweep of Duquesne
Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers snapped a four-match Atlantic 10 losing skid by defeating visiting Duquesne Sunday afternoon 3-0 (30-21, 30-26, 30-27) at Halton Arena in NCAA volleyball action. Charlotte improves to 12-11 overall, 2-6 in A-10 play, while Duquesne slides to 10-13 overall and 2-6 in league play. The Niners are 8-3 at home this season.
