Default No. 2 Penn State Women's Volleyball Outlasts No. 8 Wisconsin, 3-2

The second-ranked Penn State womenıs volleyball team survived its second five-game contest in as many matches, outlasting No. 8 Wisconsin (30-18, 24-30, 24-30, 30-27, 15-13) to remain undefeated in Big Ten action at 10-0, improving to 18-2 overall. The Badgers fall into second place at 9-1 in the league and 17-2 overall.

Sophomore outside hitter Megan Hodge (Durham, N.C.) led the Lions with 23 kills and junior outside hitter Nicole Fawcett (Zanesfield, Ohio) notched 17 kills and junior middle hitter Christa Harmotto (Aliquippa, Pa.) chipped in 16 kills on .444 hitting. Freshman middle hitter Arielle Wilson (Broadview, Ill.) contributed nine kills as redshirt freshman opposite Blair Brown (Purcellville, Va.) notched eight kills.

Default Husker Sweep Past Hawaii in Front of Record Crowd

Lincoln – The venue was different but the result was the same as the top-ranked Nebraska volleyball team swept past No. 11 Hawaii, 30-22, 30-16, 30-24, Sunday in front of an NCAA regular-season record crowd of 13,396 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Playing a home match away from the friendly confines of the NU Coliseum for the fourth time this season, Nebraska (19-0) remained the lone unbeaten team in the country while extending its home court winning streak to 66 in a row and sweeping an opponent for the 17th consecutive match.

Default Struggles follow Gophers on the road

omething has happened to the Minnesota volleyball team.

The No. 13 Gophers (12-8 overall, 5-5 Big Ten) finished out the first half of conference play on a five-match losing streak, with losses at Northwestern on Friday and Michigan State on Saturday. And after all the hype surrounding the team at the beginning of the season, this wasn't a place many expected Minnesota to be.

Default Volleyball Sweeps past TCU

Anna Breyfogle recorded 15 kills on .625 hitting as Baylor swept TCU 3-0 (30-23, 30-27, 30-24) on Wednesday night at the University Recreation Center.

"I thought that we really came out and played well," said head coach Jim Barnes. "We were very aggressive and assertive, and I was proud that we were able to show some mental toughness and hold some leads. We struggled a little bit in game two, but we responded and finished the game."

Led by Sarah Weiland's team-high 18 kills, the No. 21 Oklahoma volleyball team topped Colorado, 3-1 (30-27, 24-30, 31-29, 30-25) Wednesday night in Boulder, Colo. The Sooners improved to 17-5 and 9-3 in the Big 12 while CU fell to 5-15 and 0-12 in the league.

Default Korobkova Leads Cats in 3-0 Sweep of Tigers

With 23 kills from junior Nataly Korobkova, the 15th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats earned the 3-0 victory in Columbia, Mo., over the Missouri Tigers. K-State won the match in games of 30-23, 30-19, 30-27 to improve to 16-6 on the season and 8-4 in the Big 12 Conference. The Tigers fell to 12-9 overall, 5-7 in the conference with their third-straight 3-0 loss.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker connected for 17 kills to lead the fifth-ranked Texas Volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of No. 1 Nebraska Wednesday night in front of a sold out crowd at Gregory Gymnasium. The 30-22, 30-25, 30-20 loss marked the first time Nebraska has been swept in Big 12 play since 1997 and was the first time UT has swept the Huskers since that same season.
