Pack Tied For Third Following 3-0 Sweep Of Idaho


Reno, Nevada - The University of Nevada(11-8, 8-4 WAC) volleyball team moved into a tie for third place in the Western Athletic Conference standings following a sweep of Idaho(9-12, 5-5 WAC) by scores of 31-29, 30-20, and 30-28 on Thursday night at the Virginia Street Gym in Reno. With the victory the Wolf Pack are now tied for third with Utah State at 8-4 in the WAC standings. The Pack improved to 11-8 on the season while UI is now 9-12 overall and 5-5 in league play. The two teams split the two WAC meetings this year after the Vandals scored a 3-2 victory in Moscow, Idaho earlier this season.

Default Rebels Knock Off Second Ranked Team In '07

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV volleyball team squared off in the Cox Pavilion with the #18 Colorado State Rams on Thursday night with each team riding winning streaks. UNLV extended its winning streak to six with its 3-0 win over CSU, which snapped the Rams' eight-match run. The Rebels (17-3 overall, 8-2 Mountain West) won the match in sweeping fashion by scores of 30-16, 30-27, 30-22. With the loss, CSU falls to 15-5 on the year and 9-2 in league play.

Default Oregon Attack Sweeps Past Wildcats

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon fought off game point, coming back from a 27-29 deficit in game three, to complete the sweep (30-20, 30-18, 31-29) of Arizona on Thursday night at Mac Court.

The 16th-ranked Ducks improve to 16-6 on the year, and 5-5 in the Pacific-10 Conference. Arizona drops to 12-10 on the year and 2-8 in league.

Default UALR Snaps Eight Match Winning Streak for Denver with 3-2 Win

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—The UALR volleyball team snapped Denver’s eight match winning streak and increased their home winning streak to eight with a 3-2 (30-25, 20-30, 30-24, 19-30, 15-8) victory Friday at the Jack Stephens Center. The Trojans defeated the Pioneers for the first time since 2005 and improve to 17-8 overall and 9-4 in Sun Belt Conference action.

Default Volleyball Blasts By No. 16 Oregon

Margie Giordano and Sarah Reaves both had 18 kills Friday night coupled with Marina Mercer's 53 assists as the Sun Devil Volleyball team upset the #16 Oregon Ducks to complete the weekend sweep topping Oregon 3-1. The Sun Devils won 30-23, 30-28, 22-30 and 30-24 en route to their current 13-11 overall record and 5-6 Pac-10 record. The Ducks fall to 16-7 overall and 5-6 in conference play as well.
