Rambunctious crowds packed into Rec Hall this weekend to catch a glimpse of the new top-ranked team in women's volleyball.

More than 8,500 fans watched as Penn State swept two more opponents -- Purdue and Indiana -- and demonstrated why it's the No. 1 team in the country, according to the Oct. 29 CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll.

Purdue coach Dave Shondell, whose Boilermakers were swept twice by the Lions, believes Penn State has proven it belongs with the nation's elite.
