ATLANTA - Callie Miller notched a career-high 20 kills and Talisa Kellogg hit .455 while recording a match-high 21 kills to lead Georgia Tech past No. 14 Duke, 3-1 (30-24, 30-23, 27-30, 31-29) Thursday night at O'Keefe Gym. With the win, the Yellow Jackets improved to 18-9 on the season and 12-5 in the ACC, while Duke fell to 20-5 and 15-2 in conference play.
The Yellow Jackets' win is Tech's 12th over a ranked opponent since Shymansky was named head coach in 2002, and extends the program's streak to six-consecutive years of recording at least one victory over a ranked team.
"Our team played with great poise tonight and stayed in control of the match from the first point to the last," head coach Bond Shymansky said. "It feels like every week we've had improvement, and we're certainly rising at the right time."

ATHENS, Ohio - The No. 15 Ohio volleyball team captured its fifth-straight Mid-American Conference regular season championship Thursday evening with a 3-0 (30-21, 30-23, 30-15) victory against Kent State at the Convocation Center. The Bobcats become just the second school in the history of the conference to win five consecutive regular season titles, joining Western Michigan, which won the regular season six times from 1983-88.
Ohio (22-4, 14-1) out-hit Kent State (19-9, 10-5) .357 to .119 and landed 58 kills to Kent State's 34. The significant difference in hitting was the result of a strong Bobcat defense, which collected 65 digs to the Golden Flashes' 39.
Senior middle blocker Melissa Griffin (Whitehall, Mich.) led the Bobcat attack with 16 kills on 27 swings, while committing only two errors for a .519 hitting percentage. Ohio sophomore outside hitter Ellen Herman (Toledo, Ohio) totaled 13 kills (.226) and freshman outside hitter Melissa Szkutnik (Perrysburg, Ohio) had a solid match with 10 kills on a .421 clip.

DAYTON, Ohio - A boisterous crowd of 1,838 fans lifted the #16 Dayton volleyball team to a 3-0 (33-31, 30-18, 30-23) sweep of Atlantic 10 rival Xavier on Thursday night at Frericks Center. The largest crowd ever to watch a home UD volleyball match saw the Flyers clinch the 2007 A-10 Regular Season Title and improve to 27-1, 11-1 A-10.
After suffering its only loss of the season at Xavier on Oct. 19, Dayton redeemed itself on Thursday with a 3-0 sweep to ensure the Flyers will be the top seed in next weekend's Atlantic 10 Championship in Charlotte, NC via a 4-3 aggregate in games won between the two matches.
Dayton has won A-10 Regular Season Championships in 1998, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and now 2007. Its run of four straight regular season titles matches George Washington (1992-1995) for the second longest run of consecutive championships in A-10 history. Penn State won the first seven Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championships from 1984-1990.
