TUCSON, Ariz. - After a dominating performance on the block, the No. 18 CSU volleyball team defeated the Arizona Wildcats in three games (30-28, 30-27,30-28) in front of a crowd of 747 at the McKale Center. Jaime Strauss had a double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs, while Mekana Barnes hit .381 with 10 kills.
After the Rams got off to an early 7-2 lead in Game 1, the Wildcats came back to tie the game three times. The Rams led 25-22, but then saw Arizona storm back to tie the game at 27-27. After a CSU timeout, the Rams pulled away and finished off Game 1 with Tessa Nelson's fourth kill.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The No. 21 Red Storm volleyball team defeated Georgetown, 3-1 (30-15, 30-20, 29-31, 30-19), Friday night at Georgetown's McDonough Gymnasium. The win was the Red Storm's eighth in a row, and improved the team's record to 27-3 (12-1 BIG EAST), while Georgetown fell to 5-24 (1-12 BIG EAST).
Senior Hui Ping Huang fueled the Red Storm offense with a match-high 21 kills and had an incredible .621 hitting percentage. Senior Wioleta Leszczynska recorded the match's only double-double with a match-high 67 assists as well as 11 digs. Seniors LaToya Blunt and Dana DeMayo had 16 kills apiece, while junior Lena Yee registered a match-high 15 digs.

WICHITA, Kan. – The Shockers continued their winning ways, claiming their 16th straight victory with a sweep over Drake University (30-14, 31-29, 30-15). Angela Jakubov and Emily Stockman paced the Shockers with 13 kills each.
In game one, WSU jumped out to a quick 5-0 advantage on the strength of kills by senior Sara Lungren and sophomore Stephanie Tokarz. With WSU leading 10-4, the Shocker put together a five-point run capped by kills from Emily Stockman.
WSU controlled the first game, taking a 30-14 victory and hitting an astounding .613 with 20 kills and one error in 31 attacks.

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV volleyball team entered Friday night's volleyball match, in the Cox Pavilion, against New Mexico with its first-ever national ranking and held strong with its 30-19, 30-20, 30-18 victory. The win gives the #25 Rebels back-to-back 20-win seasons, while it is the third time in the program's history that they've reached that plateau. More importantly, the win puts UNLV in a tie for first place in the Mountain West Conference with Colorado State with its 11-2 record. Overall, the Rebels are 20-3 on the and extended its winning streak to nine matches.
The Rebels hit .390 tonight, which ranks as the best hitting efficiency by the team this season. UNLV hit above the .359 mark in all three games, with a high of .450 coming in the second frame. New Mexico, on the other hand, was held to .146 with two games below .128 and its best in the second stanza (.229).
Lauren Miramontes led the Rebels offensively with match-highs in kills (17) and in hitting efficiency (.516). On the impressive side, Miramontes only committed one error in 31 total attempts.

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State senior Samantha Pearson set the SDSU single-season digs record and freshman Melia Iwamoto tied the record for set assists in a three-game match as the Jackrabbits downed Centenary Friday night in front of 354 fans at Frost Arena to secure at least a share of the regular season conference title.
Already the SDSU record holder for career digs with 1,822, Pearson surpassed Sarah Simet’s record of 605 digs set in 2004, finishing the match with 13 digs for a season total of 611.
Iwamoto, who tied an SDSU record with 72 set assists in a four-game match on Sept. 1, at Sam Houston State, tied the record for a three-game match on Friday with 52 set assists.

EAST LANSING, Mich., Nov. 10, 2007 * The top-ranked Penn State women's volleyball team downed Michigan State in three games (30-27, 30-21, 30-24) Saturday night in East Lansing, Mich. The Nittany Lions improve to 24-2 and 16-0 in the Big Ten while the Spartans fall to 16-12 and 7-9 in league action.
Sophomore outside hitter Megan Hodge (Durham, N.C.) led all players with 16 kills on .371 hitting while junior middle hitter Christa Harmotto (Aliquippa, Pa.) posted 14 kills on .619 hitting and junior outside hitter Nicole Fawcett (Zanesfield, Ohio) notched 12 kills. Redshirt freshman opposite Blair Brown (Purcellville, Va.) tallied eight kills as senior middle hitter Melissa Walbridge (Yardley, Pa.) recorded six kills on .625 hitting. As a team, Penn State attacked at a .396 clip.
Sophomore setter Alisha Glass (Leland, Mich.) dished out 49 assists as junior libero Roberta Holehouse (Joppa, Md.) provided a match-high 11 digs and Hodge added seven. The Nittany Lions recorded five aces on the night, with Fawcett and Hodge each producing two and Holehouse adding one.

WACO, Texas – Senior Angie Lastra tied her career-high mark of 36 digs to lead No.12 Kansas State to a 3-2 win over the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas, Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats fell behind 2-1 but won the final two to take the match in scores of 28-30, 30-19, 28-30, 31-29, 15-11. K-State improves to 20-7 on the season to earn the Wildcats’ 12th 20-win year of the NCAA era; the Cats are 12-5 in conference action. Baylor drops to 14-13 overall; 6-10 Big 12.
Rita Liliom led the Cats’ .272 hitting attack as she notched 19 kills on .278 hitting. Junior Jenny Jantsch tallied a season-high 18 kills on 54 attempts to hit at .222 percent. Nataly Korobkova and Megan Farr added double-digit kills with 16 and 10, respectively.

ATHENS, Ohio - The No. 15 Ohio volleyball team won its 13th-straight match Saturday evening, cruising past Central Michigan, 30-16, 30-20, 30-21, on senior night at the Convocation Center. Ohio (23-4, 15-1), which clinched its fifth-consecutive Mid-American Conference regular season championship earlier this week, out-hit Central Michigan (21-9, 10-6) .383 to .162 on its way to snapping the Chippewas' eight-match winning streak.
Playing in the final home conference match of their careers, seniors Melissa Griffin (Whitehall, Mich.), Stephanie Blackburn (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Janice Matacic (Liberty Township, Ohio) delivered. Griffin posted a match-high 14 kills on a .379 hitting percentage, Blackburn collected nine kills and hit .500 to go with a match-high 16 digs and Matacic totaled 13 digs in the victory.
Ohio, which led the entire match, got out to a 19-8 lead in the opening game and never looked back en route to the 30-16 win. Griffin landed seven kills in the game on 13 swings with one error for a .462 hitting percentage.

Dayton, OH - No. 16 Dayton closed out the home portion of its regular season schedule on Saturday evening with a 3-0 (30-12, 30-18, 30-16) win over the Rhode Island Rams in Atlantic 10 volleyball action. A crowd of 762 fans watched the Flyers finish off a perfect 10-0 home slate in 2007.
With the win, UD lifted the nation's best record to 28-1 overall. Dayton also took home sole possession of the Atlantic 10 West Division Championship at 12-1 in conference play.
The Flyers will be the top seed in next week's A-10 Volleyball Championship and will play their first match on Saturday. Match times and a complete schedule will be available following the completion of all A-10 matches at~.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Sophomore outside hitter Amy DeGroot paced the 19th-ranked University of San Diego women's volleyball team to a thrilling 3-2 win over visiting Pepperdine University Saturday afternoon in a West Coast Conference match at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
With the 30-28, 23-30, 30-24, 29-31, 15-13 win, the Toreros improve to 19-7 overall, move to 9-3 in the WCC and take over sole possession of second place in conference. With the loss, the Waves fall to 17-8 overall and 8-4 in the WCC.
