No. 11 Rainbow Wahine Beat Loyola Marymount In Four Games
HONOLULU - The No. 11 University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team (25-5) defeated the Loyola Marymount Lions (16-12) 27-30, 30-28, 30-24 and in front of a crowd of 5,812 at the Stan Sheriff Center Tuesday.
Jamie Houston hit .339 with 25 kills to lead UH. Juliana Sanders added 12 kills with a .579 hitting percentage while Aneli Cubi-Otineru had 18 kills and 13 digs. Tara Hittle and Elizabeth Ka`aihue led the defensive effort with 20 digs apiece. Hittle also added nine kills and three blocks while Jayme Lee came in to throw in 10 digs. Stephanie Brandt ended up with 48 assists and four blocks.

Morrison Sets Career Kills Record as UW Sweeps OSU
SEATTLE - In one of her final appearances at Bank of America Arena, senior All-American Christal Morrison set a new Washington career record for kills with 13 on the night as the sixth-ranked Huskies swept by visiting Oregon State on Wednesday in Pac-10 volleyball action. Game scores were 30-26, 30-20, 30-26.
Morrison entered the match needing 12 kills to pass former teammate Sonja Tomasevic, who had 1,795 kills from 2002-05. Even though there was no official announcement when she set the record in the third game, the majority of the Husky fans in attendance knew when she got the record and gave up her a standing ovation.

No. 3 Volleyball scrapes past Iowa State, 3-2
AMES, Iowa -- The third-ranked Texas volleyball team survived a two-game Iowa State rally and staved off an ISU rally in game five, 18-16 to knock off the Cyclones, 3-2 Wednesday night at the Hilton Coliseum. Five Longhorns tallied double-digit kill totals in the 30-19, 30-24, 24-30, 32-34, 18-16 victory, improving Texas to 23-3 on the year and 18-1 in league play, while Iowa State fell to 16-13 and 10-9 in the Big 12.

Waco, Texas – Behind a career-high five service aces from Sarah Pavan, second-ranked Nebraska picked up its 23rd sweep of the year with a 30-11, 30-18, 30-26 victory over Baylor Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center.
Pavan led a potent serving attack for the Big Red, as the Huskers (26-1, 18-1 Big 12) carved up Baylor with nine aces to match NU’s season high in that category. Pavan, whose previous career high was four, matched that total in game one alone, while Rachel Holloway’s ace on match point provided the exclamation point for Nebraska, which ranks second in the Big 12 in aces.

No. 1 Penn State Women's Volleyball Sweeps Ohio State, 3-0
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 21, 2007 - The top-ranked Penn State women's volleyball team defeated Ohio State in three games (30-22, 30-21, 30-21) Wednesday night in Columbus, Ohio. The Nittany Lions improve to 27-2 and 19-0 in Big Ten while the Buckeyes fall to 13-15 and 7-12 in the league.
Sophomore outside hitter Megan Hodge (Durham, N.C.) led all players with 15 kills as junior outside hitter Nicole Fawcett (Zanesfield, Ohio) added in nine kills. Freshman middle hitter Arielle Wilson (Broadview, Ill.) chipped in seven kills on 12 errorless attacks to hit .583 as junior middle hitter Christa Harmotto (Aliquippa, Pa.) notched six kills and redshirt freshman opposite Blair Brown (Purcellville, Va.) provided five kills. As a team, Penn State attacked at a .350 clip while holding Ohio State to .083 hitting.

Marquette Grabs a 3-1 Victory Over Maine
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette volleyball team pulled out a gritty 3-1 (17-30, 31-29, 30-21, 33-31) victory over Maine in the opening match of the "Battle for the Bird" tournament Friday evening.
Senior Kimberley Todd led the Golden Eagles (9-16) notching a double-double with 17 kills and 17 digs. Senior Jenn Brown slammed 16 kill on a .423 clip, while freshman Rabbecka Gonyo tallied 10 kills hitting .450. senior Katie Weidner also had a double-double, dishing out 41 assists and collecting 10 digs. Sophomore Hailey Viola also collected 10 digs.

Shocks Fall in Five
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Wichita State had its 19-match winning streak snapped in a five-game loss to Illinois State in the semifinals of the 2007 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The Redbirds won by scores of 30-27, 32-30, 19-30, 27-30 and 15-13.
Emily Stockman led the Shockers with a career-high 24 kills and 30 digs, while Abby Harsh had 60 assists and 22 digs and Kelly Broussard had 34 digs.

Utes Upset No. 20 Colorado State, 3-2, at MWC Tournament
LAS VEGAS - Behind four players in double digit kills, the fifth-seeded Utah volleyball team won a hard-fought five-game match, 3-2 (23-30, 30-16, 18-30, 30-22, 15-12), against No. 20 and top-seed Colorado State in the second round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament.
Utah moves on to play UNLV in the championship match, at 8 p.m. PT, in the Cox Pavilion on the campus of the host Rebels. The match will be televised live on CSTV.

Dayton Battles Past Western Michigan, 3-1
OXFORD, Ohio - Senior libero became just the 25th player all-time in NCAA history to reach 2,000 career digs as #15 Dayton outlasted Western Michigan, 3-1 (28-30, 30-18, 34-32, 30-28) on Friday at the A-10/MAC Challenge. The win lifts UD to 31-1 overall this season.
Green led all players with 26 digs on the day to become only the 25th player in NCAA Division I history to record at least 2,000 career digs. Already UD's all-time leader in digs, Green has tallied 2,013 career digs including 501 this season. She is also among the Top 25 all-time in career digs per game at 4.40.

Bruins Win 20th of the Year in Four-Game Win at Arizona State
TEMPE, Ariz. - Junior Kaitlin Sather had a match-high 18 kills and tied a career best with 18 digs for her ninth straight double-double, as the 10th-ranked Bruins beat Arizona State in four on Friday at Wells Fargo Arena. Game scores were 30-25, 30-25, 24-30, 30-19.
