UCSD rolls to school-record Ninth win of 2008; Upsets Defending National Champs again
LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego men’s volleyball team won its school-record ninth victory of the season in a 33-31, 25-30, 24-30, 30-25, 15-11 win against No. 9 UC Irvine on Saturday night in RIMAC Arena. It gives the Tritons a two-match series sweep in 2008 against the defending National Champions. Additionally, it was UCSD’s third consecutive victory, a first since moving up from Division III in 2000. Jason Spangler led the way with a match-high 24 kills on .439 hitting. With the win, UCSD improves to 9-15, 5-13 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, while UCI drops to 12-13, 8-10 MPSF.

USC Men's Volleyball Upsets No. 6 Stanford
Playing inspired volleyball on Senior Night, the No. 12-ranked USC men's volleyball team upset No. 6 Stanford in dominating fashion, 30-26, 30-21, 30-19, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Saturday (March 29) at USC's Galen Center.
USC improved to 12-13 overall and 9-10 in the MPSF, while Stanford fell to 14-9 and 9-9.

Robinson Key in Win Over USCB
PROVO, Utah (March 29, 2008) -- Earning his first BYU start, redshirt freshman Jeff Robinson led the No. 4 Cougars as they swept No. 14 UC Santa Barbara 30-20, 30-28, 30-28 on Saturday night. With the win BYU improves to 19-4 on the season.
Robinson recorded a match-high18 kills hitting .517 on the night. Seniors Ivan Perez and Jonathan Charette had 12 and 11 kills, respectively. As a whole, the team recorded a .396 attack percentage.

Bruins Upset 49ers in Four Games
Eighth-ranked UCLA snapped a five-match skid at The Pyramid and upset No.3 Long Beach State in four games Saturday night.
The Bruins won 30-26, 30-23, 17-30, 30-28 in one hour and 49 minutes in front of 1,617 fans. The victory raised the Bruins' overall record to 15-11, 10-8 in MPSF play. In losing its second straight match, The Beach fell to 19-5-14-4.
In the MPSF race, the Bruins remained a victory behind fourth-place Pepperdine, which raised its league record to 11-8 with a five-game win against Pacific. Long Beach State fell into a second place tie with BYU at 14-4.

No. 11 Men's Volleyball Beats IPFW 3-1 for its Seventh Straight Win
FAIRFAX, Va. - No. 11 George Mason defeated IPFW 3-1 (30-24, 30-27, 26-30, 30-25) on Saturday evening at the Fieldhouse to win its seventh consecutive match and improve its record to 16-6. With the win, the Patriots hold a 2-1 record in three meetings with the Mastodons (10-11) this season.
The two familiar foes have met at each team's home gym, in addition to a neutral court setting at the Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic Tournament in Springfield, Mass. After losing the first meeting of the season in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Jan. 25, George Mason won the next two meetings, a 3-2 win on Feb. 22 as well as tonight's victory.

No. 1 Men's Volleyball Grounds No. 7 Ball State, 3-0
University Park, Pa. - After a nearly-two hour delay due to No. 7 Ball State's transportation troubles, the top-ranked Penn State men's volleyball team defeated the Cardinals in three games (30-26, 30-22, 30-17) Saturday night at Rec Hall. The Nittany Lions improve to 24-1 and end the Cardinals' 11-match winning streak as Ball State falls to 16-7 for the year.

No. 9 UC Irvine Upsets No. 2 Cal State Northridge, 3-1
Irvine, Calif. - The ninth-ranked UC Irvine men's volleyball team upset No. 2 Cal State Northridge, 3-1 (28-30, 30-24, 42-40, 30-18) in the regular season home finale at the Bren Center Tuesday.
The Anteaters snap Northridge's 14-match winning streak and even their record to 13-13 overall and go to 9-10 in the MPSF, while the league-leading Matadors go to 20-5 overall and 15-4 in the MPSF.
