Not playing club
As far as staying in shape goes, it is not as bad of a thing as some people think to be a multi-sport athlete. You can do many things. Here are some ideas.
Get a workout partner (it is easier to stay focused if you have someone with similar goals pushing you).
How about the basketball or track teams? With track, every day is a workout. You don't need to be state qualifier or even on the first squad. Just be part of a team. You will continue to learn to be competitive, to work hard and stay in shape and how to be a good teammate and see the world as a role player.
Maybe you and your workout partner do charity 5K & 10K walk / runs in the summer (you workout trying to beat your finish time from the one before and support a good cause).
Get to all open gyms that your volleyball team has.
Clubs, colleges and sports facilities run speed and agility training, volleyball camps, clinics and one-on-one training sessions.
You want to play DIII volleyball. They will recruit you but have no athletic scholarships. Remember, you are a Student Athlete. So ask yourself, what do I want to do when I graduate from college? Do I want to go to college close to home or do I want to be farther away? Liberal Arts? Nursing program? Business? Research and find some schools that you would like to check out, maybe schedule a visit or email their coach. If a school you are interested in runs a summer camp then go to it, work hard and get noticed. And also, if you can, play club your senior year. Many clubs also assist players to make videos.
Also, I noticed on your other posts that you're concerned about your size. This all depends on the team you go to. While DIII schools have their 6-footers, they need a player that can step in and play. In serve receive do you pass nails...Great! As an outside do you have mad hops and play incredible defense...Yes! Got a great serve...Sweet! The point is, maybe you start as a freshman, maybe you play backrow for an outside that can detinate on the ball in the front row but is a shankapotomus on defense. If you have good ball control and shots as an outside, teams can find a spot for you. You play great D and pass well.. how about libero? The bottom line is that you want to play while you go to college. If you want to play, don't quit until you know it's time.
I hope this helped. Good luck!
