The Montreux Volley Masters women’s tournament will celebrate its 25th anniversary in June with a wonderful gift to tournament spectators – the appearance of Olympic champions and FIVB world No. 1 team Brazil.

Brazil, who looked unbeatable on their way to gold at the Beijing Games last August, return to the Swiss Rivera after two years’ absence. Their last two appearances at the Montreux tournament have garnered gold. They will be joined China, Poland, Germany, Italy, Cuba, Japan and Netherlands in the June 9-14 event.

The Montreux Volley Masters will return in 2009 to its traditional and long-appreciated formula of eight teams divided into two preliminary pools followed by semi-finals (Saturday) and finals (Sunday). The qualification games will be played from Tuesday to Friday (at 16:30, 18:30 and 21:00).

With six of the competing teams in the FIVB world ranking top 10 and two in the top 15, the level of play will be higher than ever.

The organising committee has introduced a special sale for tickets at a very attractive price for Volleyball players all over Switzerland this year. Clubs are to receive a full information package via post mail.
