Beach volleyball team to train with the Thais
The Malaysian women's beach volleyball team will hold joint training sessions with their Thai counterparts to prepare for upcoming tournaments as well as the SEA Games in December.
The eight-day training stint starts today in Shah Alam. It will involve national number one Luk Teck Hua-Beh Shun Thing, the second combination of Luk Teng Kee-M. Iswari and Thai players Kamoltip Kulna (pic), Yupa Puklongploy, Julaluk Radarong and Manerat Udomchavee.
Kamoltip-Yupa won the Asian Championships in April while Julaluk-Manerat are their national junior champions.
National coach Lim Poh Hong said: “Our beach volleyball teams have not had any international competition for two months. Joint training with strong teams will definitely help.”
The Malaysian and Thai pairs are down to compete in three tournaments – Port Dickson International Invitation (Oct 26-28), Women's World Tour in Phuket (Oct 31-Nov 4) and Hong Kong Women's World Challenger (Nov 7-11).
