COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 21, 2008) – U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team Head Coach “Jenny” Lang Ping announced today that 10 players have accepted offers to train with Team USA at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, with most of the athletes arriving within a week. The selected players participated in an invitation-only tryout held Jan. 7-12 in Colorado Springs.
In addition, Lang Ping announced 2000 Olympian Sarah Noriega (Ulysses, Kan.) has returned to the team to train and is working toward earning a roster spot for the 2008 Olympics. She did not compete in the 2004 Olympics. Noriega served as an intern with the United States Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs last year.
